Which side of the Iraqi civil war are we fighting with?
The Iraqis overwhelmingly call it a civil war. Mosques are being blown up tit-for-tat. Iranians are supporting/ arming the Shiites, Saudis are arming/ supporting the Sunnis. It seems obvious to me that the US would like the Sunnis in power because of Iranian influence over the Shiites. Isn't this obvious to the Iraqis?
The side that is promoting democracy and individuals freedom of rights similar to what we some days take for granted. The Iraqui's voted and held elections but this new Government can hardly take care of itself. Fighting to keep out the insurgents and waring factions that have created unrest for hundreds of years travelling across Iraq borders at will. It's a tall order.
