2 nursing home rejections because the facility will not provide a bariatric bed due to cost...?

Does this sound like a legitimate excuse to deny a person, or was I being lied to?
If the cost was too extensive, I could have purchased one myself.
Miz D, at first I did not, because I was stunned, the second time I did offer, but it was too late, because I had already worked out a plan elsewhere. It just sounds wrong to me, but the second answer to my question made excellent points.
The third answer, that is not what I am asking, I do not want them to oblige, I just want to know the REAL reasoning behind this. I feel as if I was not being told the truth about this.

Ask to see their policy manual on patient cost...they have a bill of rights and trust me its not the bed..its the space...rooms arent made for a normal bed, and a bariatric and they dont want to give a private room. nor do they want to provide staff for turning..this is a nursing home issue they will all have to face eventually.
