Who and Where can I make a written complaint to in Minnesota?
A relative of mine has Alzheimers and was in a nursing home. We took her out and put her back in her apartment. Doctor said she had to have 24 care or people to watch her and she does. It's private care and not through an agency. This started last Oct.2007 just this Feb. The apartment manager gave another resident a paper to deliver to my aunt stating that the caregivers couldn't park in the residents parking spots. My aunts rent is paid and that includes a parking spot even though she doesn't have a license. There is also a tub room and we were told she can't use it unless she is on assistance. The bath bench in her bathroom is slanted, she could slide to the floor and it is too low. We have put 2 work orders in to get raised and so it doesn't slant. Nothing has been done. The manager [ I heard] also is in charge of the alzheimer and dimentia ward at the nursing home.
I suggest you start by contacting local Health Dept. They may not be able to act on all the problems, but they should be able to refer you.
You may need to locate senior citizen protective aqgency in your area.
