I'm going into high school and have never taken a foreign language. I've only spoken English my whole life. I live in America. What would be the easiest language to learn: German, French, or German?
Also, what do you think would be the most useful to me?
To start, Spanish or French would be the most useful to you. German is spoken officially in Austria and Germany, but not as widely spoken as Spanish and French.
I learn French and I found it the easiest to learn. The syntax is similar to English, for the most part, and there are literally hundreds of cognates (words that look the same in both languages and mean the same thing)
To illustrate a few:
magazine, table, téléphone, télévision, etc
The pronunciation is challenging, but once you understand it, it's not that hard.
For example, ais, aient, é, ée, ait, ai, et, est, és, and ées all sound the same 
haha. But don't let you turn that off! French is a great language and culture to study.
I took Spanish for only a couple of months and it never clicked with me...but that's just me. It's surprisingly similar to French in some aspects and not too difficult to learn at the beginning, but gets harder (or so I hear).
German is in the same language group as English (Germanic languages) but it's very different in the sense it has cases, and English doesn't. There are also genders, 3 (instead of the normal 2 in romance languages) I believe (male, female, neuter), but I could be wrong, I've never taken it past the beginner level
