Sprain refers to injuries of ligaments that hold the bones together at the joint. Strain refers to injuries of a muscle or tendon. Tendon connects muscles and bones. You should be fine to train now.
Eating vegetarian and maintaining muscle is VERY hard, because of the need for protein.
If you are not vegan then I would suggest you eat paneer with every meal and bulk up with dhal, rice and chickpeas.
If you are allowed to drink milk in your diet then drink as much as you can for the protein and eat yogurt regularly.
Without regular protein your muscles whither away -
Eat every two hours
Keep a strong abdomin - do crunches, sit ups.
It's fine to do morning yoga and afternoon weight training.
If you are fully recovered your groin should be fine.
Two years is plenty
