How early can you detect pregnancy with an at home test?

I understand the whole, before/after your missed period, but I don't really have a period. Well I do but it's irregular. So I'm not entirely sure when it should be. I know the date of conception or the day we tried, whatever. So I'm just wondering how soon after I can take an at home test to see if I'm pregnant. I heard it could be as early as 7 days or sometimes 19 days. Thanks so much!
