I got a lumar roll to help with back pain. Should it hurt?
I have chronic upper back pain and my doctor recommended a book by Robin McKenzie, who is very well known for exercises and props to improve posture.
I bought a McKenzie roll, which is like a Twinkie in it's shape and straps to my desk chair. The thing is, I think it's too big. There is only one size, so I'm confused. I'm not unusually small or large as a person.
Basically, with my tush to the back of the chair, I'd have to put lot of pressure against the pillow to squish it to the size where my upper back can also meet the chair. That's the whole point of this pillow. So... am I missing something?
It's kind of causing more pain. I'm thinking about taking the pillow back, but the brochure says that I may need a few days to adjust to it and that it may cause pain. I was using an old sweatshirt before and it was a pain in the butt to keep adjusting, but it was way better than this!!
I would definitely take the pillow back if it has been a few days already since you noticed this and has not improved.
I would also recommend trying to get a hold of the author of the book and let them know what's going on so that they can be aware as well.
