how do i know if the OptiChamber Advantage is working?
hello, just yesterday my 5.5 year old son was diagnosed with asthma. only because of the dry winter air. he now has 2 different inhalers that he has to use. i got his chamber from the walgreens pharmacy. it is called OptiChamber Advantage made by Respironics. it comes with a medium pediatric mask. last night i cleaned it all up and used it for the first time this morning, but how do i know it is working and he is getting the medicine from the inhalers???
Follow the directions provided. Know which inhalers he's using and the expected results. Albuterol is usually given for more immediate relief of difficult breathing. Other inhalers are prescribed for a longer lasting relief.
If you still can't determine if it's helping, call his primary care provider office for advise, sooner rather than later. They may have you come in so that they can demonstrate the process for you. That wouldn't be a bad idea.
