Pen-style dosimeters? I don't understand the point :S?
So here's what's happening:
There is a a pen-style dosimeter. A movable fibre with a positive charge enters the dosimeter and is ABOUT to strike a gas molecule inside the dosimeter. So I have to draw a diagram showing the charges on the dosimeter and the gas molecule.
I already know that the gas molecule is positively charged... So then what?
Help me pleease!
A dosimeter is a device that test the level of radioactivity in an area if the movable fibre is positively charged due to radiation,i presume and the gas molecdule is also positively charged, then due to repulsion by similarly charged particles then the fibre will move or vibrates it denotes that you have to evacuate that area because radiation is high.
There is a different between ionizing and non ionizing radiation and one of that is harmful.
