is my shoulder strained or dislocated?
i got into a fight last night and when i threw my first punch i think i strained or dislocated my right shoulder from the impact against the guys head. when the paramedics came they only checked it by eye and told me nothing seemed out of place. Me i feel like my shoulder isnt placed like it used to be and at points it feels like its replacing itself in its original position and you hear yhis clacking noise. but my shoulder is hurting me. its not unbarable but its still hurts when i move it around. whats the difference between strained and dislocated shoulder^
Paramedics can not just look at a shoulder and tell much of anything. They are not trained for that. An Athletic Trainer with 4 - 6 years of education might be able to but not a Paramedic with just 4 - 6 months of votech school. If you have a tear in the rotator cuff, you could be looking at a lifetime of problems if not taken care of properly.
Go to your doctor and get professional medical advice. If anything is wrong with your shoulder, file a complaint with the EMS agency and the state EMS office. You might have a good case for negligence since what the Paramedics did was way out of their scope. I bet they put you refused to go to the ER on their paperwork to cover themselves.
