How do I effectively work center position in basketball?

I've been out of playing real team ball for about 10 years, just playing pick-up ball. Now I've just joined a local team in a small town in Japan and I'm not fluent at all in the language.

As a post player who enjoys playing in the high post I'll offer some of my preferences.

When I'm on weak side I prefer to be in the high post. This clears the middle for the strong side low post player.

From there you can become an outlet for the wing if the low post entry is defended.

If entered into the low post you have the option to cut into the key or back door to the opposite block and receive a pass.

If the pass is entered into you in the high post, you can enter a high low pass to the low guy (especially good if the low man is fronted)

Alternatively, you can look for your own 10-12 foot jumper, drive, or swing to the opposite wing depending on how the defence reacts.

This is especially effective against 2-3 zone defences because having the ball in this spot puts a lot of pressure on the middle defender and forces everyone to collapse. In fact you may want to flash below the free throw line every once in a while to keep the defence on their toes (but watch your spacing)

When the ball is swung to your side you can cut to take the low block or remain in the high post and let your partner swing across to reposition.

Obviously there isn't one way to play the position but this is what works for me. The key is to remember your spacing, you want to avoid clogging the lane for your partner.
