Person Sound Amplifier?
I was wondering if any one has tried one of those personal sound amplifiers, like you see on tv. I know there is Listen Up and Sonic Earz. has anyone tried these? Do they work at all? Is one better than the other?
They do work, but they amplify EVERYTHING. So, if you're in a loud room and are trying to hear a whisper across the room, you will just hear everything in the room louder, so the whisper will still be covered up by the ambient sound. To get around this, the pro reporters at football games and stuff will use a mic that is very directional, either a shotgun mike or a dish mike that can zero in on just one part of a noisy area and amplify the sound.
The Sonic Earz and stuff work very well in quiet areas, like the woods at night. Using them in the woods at night can get pretty scary, believe me.
