Pros and Cons of a standard/manual car.? ?
i'm looking into buying a car i really liked this infinity g35 coupe standard. what are the pros and cons...i heard they are better than automatic drive type.? -thanks!
Pros: You can make them get up to speed faster, Manuals get slightly better gas mileage, they're fun to drive and show off with (if you like sportier driving), They last longer than an automatic transmission, Japanese reliability.
Cons:pain to drive in traffic, going through parking lots or anything else where you may need to suddenly stop is crap, backing up slowly without whipping out of the spot takes some adjustment, if you don't know stick you have to learn and it will take some patients, if you need someone else to drive your car for whatever reason, they will have to know how to drive stick or risk messing your transmission up, the clutch can be a costly repair if you don't go easy on it (but cheaper than the whole tranny which is less likely to go out).
One thing I will mention is that if you did get a g35 coupe as an automatic, it wouldn't be too different because they have a manual shifting sport mode where you can shift it as a manual without the clutch. If you feel you are wanting something sporty and don't get caught in stop-go situations a lot and you are comfy with driving stick, then a manual is the way to go for you
