Am I at any risk of getting diabetes?
Today my dad made me take a glucose reading with his strip blood reader thing. I am a very healthy 16 year old male who is, and I dont mean to brag, in tip-top shape. I am 5'9, and weigh 160 pounds approx. and max bench 225. I run track and play football, and my 40 time is a 4.6. Even with those numbers though, I do find that my stamina fails me sometimes while playing sports, and I can feel tired just a little after starting. I never eat junk food, and when I say that I mean rarely ever. I do chew sugar-free, (with small amounts of sugar alcohol) gum almost religiously, and I do drink a lot of water (on some days up to 7 to 8 water bottles.) Anyways, my glucose reading was a very high 151, and now my family is worried about me. I love to eat fruit by the way, every day.
