I intend buying a Motorola phone with Blackberry support, but the salesman at the counter asked me why I needed the Blackberry supported one when I could just get a cheaper phone with only GPRS and still get the same functions as one with Blackberry. Is that true? What advantages does a Blackberry-supported phone have over one with just GPRS?
The only thing that you can do with a blackberry that you cannot do with a regular phone is have work email through the blackberry enterprise server. And that's if your company uses the BES. Nowadays you can find a phone that has a full qwerty keyboard and does everything else maybe even better if you are just looking toward multimedia features such as pics, texting, and video. One other thing though that i am not sure about with other phones are third party applications. With blackberries you have hundreds of apps that you can put on your phone whereas with other phones you may be limited to what the provider (Sprint, Verizon, etc...) provides.
