A cable tray system is used to support insulated electric cables used for power distribution and communication. Cable trays are used as an alternative to open wiring or electrical conduit systems, and are commonly used for cable management in commercial and industrial construction. Cable trays are a type of building material used to carry wires, cables and conduits safely through a building. Single rail cable trays are the most flexible and economical, and are generally used for low-voltage wiring.

These trays also keep wires organized, and make it easier for maintenance personal to locate and maintain wiring and related components.
