Suggestions on how to convince someone to test blood sugar?

My girlfriend has diabetes and will not test her blood sugar. i have told her she can go blind, she can lose limbs, and have problems within the body, etc. any suggestions on how to convince her to test?

There is NOTHING >YOU< can do.

Here are the straight, solid facts:
YOu can not change someone's mind. YOU have no control of what someone else thinks, and how your girlfriend THINKS about her disease is what controls her actions. you can beg, you can plead, you can cry, you can threaten to leave her, but YOU can do NOTHING to change her mind. What YOU need to do is learn that you are completely helpless in this situation. ALL that you can do is love her, and pray that is enough.

People WILL NOT change their habits until THEY see a reason to. You have already given her all the reasons but it is HER fault that she won;t listen. NOTHING you can do, except love her.

But hopefully that is enough. What she needs to realize is that if she continues along the path she is walking, it may be very soon that she won;t be physically able to love you, I don;t mean sex. I means that she may be locked up in a hospital or nursing home, INCAPABLE of being with you.

You MIGHT try this: Take her to a dialysis clinic and let he SEE the agony and vomiting that occurs during dialysis, caused by kidney failure caused by diabetes.
Take her to a rehab center, where they try to teach amputees how to walk or even write again after have an amputation caused by diabetes.

Have her wear a blindfold and simply wak through her house, from one end to the other, unaided.

Go to a women;s clinic, and talk to women who have had miscarriages and still births caused by being diabetic.

But understand that even this may make no impression on her. You girl fiend sounds VERY young, and people under The age of 40 often see them selves as "immortal" -- that is, they think"That can;t happen to ME! I'm young and healthy!". But it CAN happen and it DOES happen, to people of ALL ages, and id she fails to check her blood sugars, take her meds, and eat properly, SHE could be the next heart attack or stroke victim, or even find herself DEAD before she reaches 30.

As for you, prepare yourself for a very limited life with her. How would YOU feel if you knew her hobby was playing Russian Roulette? Every day there is a very real chance that she will be dead, leaving you alone. Is THAT what YOU want?

You may seriously want to consider finding a girlfriends who is more mature, and is more interested in taking care of HER life for YOUR sake,
