What Is The Life In The UK Test by lee101
For those who want to become a British citizen or to settle permanently in UK, the primary step is to apply for naturalisation as a British citizen with the UK government. As per new rule, the applicants are required to pass a test, namely, Life in UK Test, in order to apply for the British citizenship (indefinite leave to remain.) Life in UK Test is also alternatively known by names including Life in the Britain Test and British Citizenship Test. For applicants residing in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, options are also available to take combined English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Further, in order to apply for naturalisation, the applicants’ level of the English language must be ESOL Entry 3 or above. In case, the applicants’ level of English is below ESOL Entry 3, it is important to attend combined English language (ESOL) as well as citizenship classes.
Life in the UK Test is conducted by Ufi Ltd – a non profit organization for administering online tests and assessment – on behalf of the Home Office. In order to appear for the test, it costs almost £34. The test usually lasts for 45 minutes, and consists of 24 multiple choice questions, of which at least 18 must be correct in order to pass the test. For applicants with any medical condition, more time is allowed. In the event, if candidate fails, he is required to take the test again.
