BASKETBALL question: About sprained right thumb!!!?

Yesterday during our practice, I sprained my right thumb.

Is there any way to stop or prevent the soreness of my thumb? cause we will have a game tomorrow against our rival team and I do love to play against them but I can't properly catch and hold the ball because of this.

and also I planned to buy a gear to support my right thumb but since this is my first time to have a sprained thumb, I have no Idea about what the gear looks like...so please if you knew something about the thumb support gear please give me some pictures..ok?
